One-Year Intensive English Course

The Intensive Course is designed for those students who wish to improve their English from the beginning up to B2 (upper-intermediate). Choose the course if:

• you want to take an English-taught study programme at public or private higher education institutions in Europe or other countries;
• you were expelled from the university because you were not able to study in the Czech language. Our course gives you the possibility to extend your visa, stay in the ČR without breaking the law, learn English and apply for the English-taught study programme next year;
• you need English for your work;
• you just need good English for your own purposes in a short time.

Full cost of the course: 55500 CZK + 8500 CZK non-refundable registration fee. If you wish, you can pay for the course in euros at the current exchange rate on the day of invoicing. (approx. 2300 € + 350 €, the final figure in euros may change on the day of settlement)

The course is designed in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and taking into account the Cambridge exams requirements.

Throughout the course, the teachers and students work on four common language skills: listening, reading, speaking, writing. The midterms and final tests are conducted in the format of the international exams.

Active vocabulary – up to 1000 units per course. Preparation for the international exams.

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:

• speak fluently on various topics in everyday and business communication, increase your specific vocabulary related to your professional activities or studies;
• use formal and informal styles of speech, use one or the other in the right situation;
• use a wide range of phrasal verbs, set expressions, idioms, linking words;
• speak with a little or no accent;
• understand by ear texts and dialogues of any genre (from TV shows and slang to scientific lectures and radio programs about politics);
• read non-adapted literature;
• conduct official correspondence, write an article, report, abstract, synopsis, essay and other texts;
• pass the international exams (A2 Key, B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency, IELTS, TOEFL), and study or work abroad.

Documents:

• a valid travel (international) passport or ID card;
• permanent residence information;
• a school certificate or university diploma (if there is one);
• a reference as to the number of hours and subjects learned for the last 2 – 4 years for nostrification. All documents have to be translated in Czech language and notarised only in ČR. The translations made in other countries are not accepted by the Ministry of Education of ČR.
